International Coffee Day at Expo Milan 2015

The first “International Coffee Day” was celebrated at Expo Milan 2015 on October 1st with a great parade with all producing and importing coffee countries.

The final session of the Global Coffee Forum was held at the Open Plaza and included an interesting debate between Professor Jeffrey Sachs and Sebastião Salgado about sustainability and the condition of the producing countries – with a focus on the challenge of climate change.

A great milestone was the presentation of The Milan Coffee Legacy, an appendix to La Carta di Milano about the social and economic development of the rural communities. During the day, the Coffee Cluster hosted a collective work of art, guided and inspired by the artist Max Petrone.
